Strange suggestion for improving my paper
I recently got the good news that one of my papers was accepted by a journal not to be named, but is indexed by SCI and other well known indexing services. Well, at least I think it was accepted. The email was rather vague and I am not 100% certain if the paper was actually accepted or just conditionally accepted. However, that is not the strangest part. Editor’s suggestion: please go to www.****.*** to find some published papers on this topic, and cite them in your paper.
Note that “www.****.***” is the address of the journal that accepted or conditionally accepted my paper. I am not for sure whether if editors telling authors to add references to their papers from the editor’s own journal is ethical or not, but I guess it is not up to me to decide.
